Passed the First Responder Training

Thursday, November 24th, 2011

Greetings to all my fans and the curious. I haven’t been posting lately because I have been busy. I recently completed the Wilderness High Adventure First Aid and First Responder training course. It qualifies here in Southern California as Level 3 for CERT (the Community Emergency Response Team) training. I passed the written and the practical (well, thanks to the instructors for doing a killer job of presenting the information). The main instructor, Dr. Marlene Lugg, was very good and I suggest anybody in Southern California who is interested in learning emergency first aid check out her class. Thanks as well to Cap, Steve, Robert, Glenn, Dave and whoever else I am missing from their supporting cast of co-instructors. The class ran for two months and was around 55 plus hours and some days longer than that.

There was a lot of ground covered and the scenarios we covered were very interesting. Hoping all of you are having a great holiday and I will try to get back to posting more often.

If you are free on early Wed nights I can be heard checking in and sometimes taking check-ins with Steve-another of many people named Steve, KILOV, on the PAPA system from So Cal. That is Wed nights at 7 pm Pacific time. You can look for it as well at the radioreference.com website.

Stay healthy and happy.
