Yes, Unemployment Looks Like it is 50 Percent

As a follow up to the questions that I had about how bleak unemployment is I can’t help but wonder how bad things are really out there in the business world.  Judging from the emails I get there are a lot of people who are on the financial ropes doing whatever they can to survive and make it through the projected bad times ranging from one or two more business quarters to maybe a year or two away.  A good portion of the issue could be that  California has been hit very hard because we are a large state and we had more companies that could close down and/or downsize.  That of course, translates into a self-fullfilling cycle with even more firms shutting down because they can’t make ends meet or cover payrolls.

At least half of my clientele who were W2 earning people were either laid off or downsized with cut hours or laid off and hired elsewhere at a lower wage.  Judging from the news reports that I am reading on the Internet, watching on television and reading in the newspapers, things seem to be pretty bad all over the place.

I invite our legislatures at the State and Federal level and our Governors and our President to please get more jobs created now.  Get busy with more infrastructure programs and since we are printing money like it is from a game of Monopoly, please print more and work to get it into the hands of the people who need it the most – the backbone of the country – the average American.  I am talking about the man or woman who lives by paycheck to paycheck who is currently out of work and in dire need of their income stream to come back.

Please keep pressure on your representatives and get them to get you working again.

Okay, that is enough of my rant and enjoy what is left of the weekend.

Part of all the proceeds from the sales of that book  go  to Rett Syndrome research.  One girl is born with Rett Syndrome worldwide every fifteen minutes.   My daughter Arianna has Rett Syndrome and we are working to do all we can to make her life easier and find a cure in her lifetime.  Boys born with the Rett gene generally die at birth.
